Title: Foliage Rendering in Pure
Abstract:

This talk was given as part of the popular "Advances in Real-Time Rendering in 3D Graphics and Games" course at this year's Siggraph. Pure is Black Rock's critically acclaimed off-road racing game for XBox360 and PS3. The wilderness environments in the game are densely populated with trees, grasses and other foliage. We will demonstrate a number of techniques we used to render foliage efficiently and at a high visual quality. These range from innovative GPU post processing methods to efficient CPU caching and sorting schemes. We'll also give a sneak preview into work on Split/Second, our next game due for release in 2010
