Title: Scaling real-time 3D graphics hardware down so it fits in your pocket
Abstract:

Imagination Technologies is at the forefront of 3D graphics innovation for mobile and embedded applications, providing the graphics IP beating at the heart of the world's most popular and loved mobile computing devices.

From our starting point in desktop 3D graphics accelerators at the start of the PC graphics revolution, our technology has used many of the same ideas and basic architecture from those early products to drive highly energy- and area-efficient, but still very high performance for that power and silicon space, embedded mobile graphics products for our customers.

This talk covers some of the innovations we've had to make, and challenges we've had to overcome to move from the desktop - where you have tens or even hundreds of watts to burn, dedicated external memories, and very big chips - to mobile, where every fraction of a square millimetre is valuable, you share memory with everything else in the system, and your power envelope is often measured in microwatts.
