Title: Automated Trading
Abstract:

Technology is truly at the heart of automated trading. In recent years automated trading has taken centre stage. The rise of trading algorithms has driven volumes up in the global equity markets as well as other asset classes like futures, options, etc. Hardware, software, networking - all are crucial parts of the technology stack that enable ever more efficient trading processes. The various businesses that are built using automated trading technology simply could not exist without the technology - the technology is the business.

Chris Donnan

Currently European Head of Automated Trading Technology in Cash Equities at Barclays Capital. Formerly working @ Polygon . a Hedge Fund in both NY and then in London with the Events Trading Desk. Prior to that I was at Merrill Lynch in the US, consulting at Morgan Stanley and other proprietary trading consulting work.

Neil Gandhi

Graduated from Imperial, Computing BEng, in 2004. During the summer of my penultimate year at Imperial, I Interned at Merrill Lynch. In my final year of the Computing degree, I was chairman of DocSoc.

After graduation, I joined Merrill Lynch as a Technology Analyst in the Network Team, supporting and deploying Network Infrastructure. After 2 years in Networks, I moved internally to the Market Data Team, working on real-time pricing and market data for traders and algo trading systems. Within Market Data, I worked with technologies developed by Reuters, Bloomberg, exchanges as well as in-house developed software. My role involved analysing problems publishing/subscribing market data, deploying upgrades and new technologies.

In 2010, I moved to Barclays Capital into the Market Data team specialising in low latency market data technology. I work closely with high frequency trading teams providing them with market data infrastructure that gives them a competitive advantage.

Thibault Bondoux

I am AVP and I work on the Systematic Trading desk in London with Maxime. We focus on the equities markets in Europe. I joined the Graduate Programme here at Barclays in May 2009. I hold a Master.s Degree from the Ecole Polytechnique in France and a Master of Financial Engineering from Columbia University in NYC.
