Title: Capitalising on the mobile opportunity
Abstract:

This talk will look at the spread of mobile computing into finance & banking and the challenges/opportunities that brings. We'll cover a review of what is seen as the latest and greatest, various trends, and issues like security and accommodating personal choice of devices. Security in particular is a key challenge so we will draw out the changes in the mobile platforms and then wrap-up with a series of industry examples where security has compromised firms.

Andrew Sargison is a Practice Area Group Head responsible for Client Intelligence and Advisory Technology. The group provides technology solutions to Investment Banking, Global Capital Markets, Equity & Fixed Income Research and Equity & Sales Distribution. Andrew also provides technology guidance to Morgan Stanley banking clients and develops bespoke solutions to support key firm transactions. Andrew joined Morgan Stanley in 1998; during his tenure he has worked across various business lines including Advisory Technology, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Municipal Securities, Investment Banking and Fixed Income. Prior to Morgan Stanley Andrew worked at Sumitomo Finance developing derivatives technology solutions, previously working for Nestle UK. Andrew qualified in Computer Science and Business Administration from York College.
