Applications of Computing in Industry : Lecture

Cloud Computing, virtualization and other related technologies have fundamentally altered the landscape and approach enterprises have towards IT investments. With the rapid emergence of these technologies coupled with an equally dizzying rise in adoption of mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets etc in enterprises, concerns abound around aspects of Information Security, Data ownership, Liability, Privacy, Service levels, Governance etc This talk will aim to address and cover some of these aspects and take a closer look at some emerging patterns and changing behaviour within the IT organizations of enterprises and how it is spawning the development of an entire generation of newer technologies, frameworks and startups.

Madhukar I.B. is an Associate Vice President in Infosys and heads the Cloud computing and Infrastructure Management Services business for the Manufacturing Vertical in Europe. He has worked in several roles in Infosys including in his earlier role where he was the Global Head of the Infrastructure and Operations Consulting practice. He works closely with Infosys.. customers around designing solutions and models to transform their IT Infrastructure and Operations through adoption of Cloud computing, Virtualization and mobility technologies. He holds certifications and accreditations in several industry frameworks and best-practices including ITIL Masters, PMP, CISSP etc. He has authored several articles for prestigious magazines, papers and journals including his recent authorship on ..Learning over the IT Lifecycle . Advantages of integrated service creation and service management.. jointly with Prof. Florian Taube from the European Business School. He has also been a guest lecturer at BIM management institute conducting courses on IT in management for MBA students.

Madhukar holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from the IIM Calcutta and is an Electrical Engineer from IIT Madras.
