DoC PhD Students Awarded Prestigious Google European Fellowships

Two PhD students; Konstantinos Bousmalis and Petr Hosek have been awarded prestigious Google European Fellowships to support their PhD studies here in the Department of Computing. These are highly competitive Fellowships and are created to support outstanding Doctoral students doing exceptional research in Computer Science or closely related areas.
Konstantinos, is a PhD student in Prof. Maja Pantic's Intelligent Behaviour Understanding Group and has received a Google European Fellowship in Social Signal Processing to work on machine learning techniques for spatio-temporal continuous analysis of social signals like agreement and disagreement.
Petr Hosek, is a PhD student in Dr. Cristian Cadar's Software Reliability Group and has received a Google European Fellowship in Software Engineering to work on techniques for improving the software update process using a multi-version execution approach.
