Admissions

This MSc is suitable for those in full or part-time employment who wish to gain a prestigious qualification in Computer Science in order to accelerate their career development and play a leading role in the development of the pervasive computing technologies of the future.

Candidate Profile

The flexible course structure makes it appropriate for both:

  • candidates with strong scientific backgrounds who have started or wish to start a career in IT;
  • candidates with computing backgrounds and working experience who wish to follow the advanced modules.

Prerequisites

The minimum qualifications for applicants are:
  • An upper second class degree from a UK university, or overseas equivalent, and
  • to be currently employed in the IT industry.
  • Students whose first language is not English will have to satisfy the College's English requirements (eg. through the IELTS or TOEFL examinations).

Application details

There is no official deadline for receipt of applications. You may start the MSc in either October or in January of any year. Your application will need to comprise:

  1. The Imperial College Postgraduate Application Form (PG1)
  2. An up-to-date CV
  3. Two references (see form PG 3). One reference should be from your current employer and should outline the relevant responsibilities and activities you have undertaken. The other reference should be academic, usually from your personal tutor, course coordinator or senior departmental tutor
  4. English Language Test Scores (if applicable)
  5. Confirmation of Qualifications form PG2)
  6. Funding Confirmation

Please note that we cannot process applications until items 1-3 have been received. Items 4-6 can be forwarded once an offer has been made. Please also provide any additional information which may be useful in evaluating your application eg. degree transcripts.

Offer accepted by applicant and conditions to offer met. Welcome pack sent to applicant by the Department

Uncessessful application

Official letter sent to applicant by Imperial College Registry
