GERARDO CARRERA MENDOZA

I'm a PhD candidate at the Department of Computing within the Visual Information Processing group under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Davison. My current areas of interest are computer vision, artificial intelligence and robotics.

I'm currently working on Computer Vision techniques for practical mobile robotics. This comes from the fact that people nowadays is more aware of the importance that technology plays in everyday's life. Therefore, the acceptance towards the integrations of robots doing human-like tasks is growing with an increasing demand for practical applications.

I have been involved in different robotics projects and participated in some robotics competitions such as Robocup 2006 (Bremen, Germany) and 2007 (Atlanta Georgia Tech, U.S).
