We have bought a number of
Microchip
PIC16/17 microcontrollers.
These are low-cost 8-bit CMOS devices that incoporate a CPU,
(E)PROM, RAM, and I/O. We have also bought the
ClearView Mathias
in-circuit emulator and the
TDE editor/debugger, including
CVASM16 PIC assembler, from
TechTools
and the
PCM C compiler
from
Custom Computer Services, Inc.
We have also bought the
Parallax, Inc.
Basic Stamp II.

This is a tiny single-board computer with 16 I/O lines, built around the Microchip 16C57 microcontroller, that runs a version of BASIC. Its 2Kbyte EEPROM holds the executable program and any data. Its 32 bytes of RAM serve as variable space and I/O pin interface for the BASIC program. |
