The European Union Flags Game

This game has been developed using Java 1.0. The Applet randomly loads a different set of EU member state Flag and country name pairs (from the 15 available) each time a new game is started.

Playing the Game

Use the mouse to turn over two cards at a time and try to match the member states' flags to the corresponding country names. Keep going until you have matched all of the flag and country name pairs.

The game was developed as part of my MSc Computing project - "A Toolkit for Web-based teaching games". The project involved an investigation into methods for producing interactive teaching content on the WWW, and the development of example games using JavaScript and Java.

The idea of using a memory game as an interactive teaching aid was generalised, and an application produced that enables non-programmers (such as most teachers) to create and customise their own memory game enhanced tutorials.
