The aims of these meetings are, roughly: Suitable topics for talks might be: The idea is that these meetings will last about 1 hour, so talks should be about 30 minutes long with time for questions and discussion afterwards.

It has become clear in the past that we cannot really sustain a programme of one talk a week for a very long time because of lack of speakers having new material to report about. The plan for this term therefore is to have a block of weekly meetings now, and then take a break.
