Most direct network topologies have been built with k-ary n-cubes
or are isomorphic to them.
k-ary n-cube:
-
k nodes in each dimension,
-
each node can be labelled by an n digit number of radix (base) k,
-
each node is connected to every node which has a label which differs
in only one digit by one.
A k-ary n-cube can be constructed by connecting together k
k-ary (n-1)-cubes together in a ring.
