[Phaedo] [859] And in all these cases, the recollection may be derived from things either
[Phaedo] [864] And when the recollection is derived from like things, then another
[Phaedo] [882] material things, such as pieces of wood and stones, and gather from them
[Phaedo] [883] the idea of an equality which is different from them? For you will
[Phaedo] [899] And yet from these equals, although differing from the idea of equality,

[Phaedo] [2066] the separation and subtraction of one from the other would be the cause.

[Phaedo] [2127] and that this is the way in which mind acts, and not from the choice of the
[Phaedo] [2129] cannot distinguish the cause from the condition, which the many, feeling
[Phaedo] [2154] for I am very far from admitting that he who contemplates existences
[Phaedo] [2258] and that other things participate in them and derive their names from them,
[Phaedo] [2308] the greater, and that opposites were simply generated from opposites; but
[Phaedo] [2331] Yet once more let me ask you to consider the question from another point of
[Phaedo] [2341] Heat is a thing different from fire, and cold is not the same with snow?
[Phaedo] [2444] the odd, or fire the cold--from these examples (and there are many more of
[Phaedo] [2462] inferred by you from what has been just said. I mean that if any one asks
[Phaedo] [2466] one asks you 'why a body is diseased,' you will not say from disease, but
[Phaedo] [2467] from fever; and instead of saying that oddness is the cause of odd numbers,
[Phaedo] [2607] called life, but of eternity! And the danger of neglecting her from this
[Phaedo] [2612] immortal, there is no release or salvation from evil except the attainment
[Phaedo] [2621] world below, following the guide, who is appointed to conduct them from
[Phaedo] [2627] the road, and windings, as I infer from the rites and sacrifices which are
[Phaedo] [2636] of these, and the works of brothers in crime--from that soul every one
[Phaedo] [2663] force to be a support, but is kept there and hindered from falling or
[Phaedo] [2673] region extending from the river Phasis to the Pillars of Heracles inhabit a
[Phaedo] [2687] nor ever heard from one who had seen, how much purer and fairer the world
[Phaedo] [2691] is, that owing to our feebleness and sluggishness we are prevented from
[Phaedo] [2709] earth, when looked at from above, is in appearance streaked like one of
[Phaedo] [2785] degree lower than the point from which they came. And some burst forth
[Phaedo] [2812] opposite direction, and comes near the Acherusian lake from the opposite
[Phaedo] [2840] then they come forth and cease from their troubles; but if not, they are
