Tom started writing a rotating Tetris game many years ago, where the whole screen rotated slowly round while you played. It was impressive, but not quite clean and crisp enough to be considered worth exploring further. However, the idea of writing Tetris still seemed to be a good one, and eventually, a suitable opportunity arrived, in the form of Jon's 21st birthday. With Jon's birthday being in November, we started in April, to make sure that the project would get finished on time... which it did - just! Anyway... it has all you would normally expect from a Tetris game - and a little bit more now and then.... The most unusual feature is the three player simultaneous mode, which is great fun for those of you who have two friends who are willing to share a keyboard with you! And it's got funky music, piece preview, the nasty bits where in the multi-player games, the rows rise up when your opponents get any... and it looks quite pretty as well. Not a bad Tetris clone - give it a try! |
