Job Description For The Third Year Co-ordinator


To take care of the day to day running of an academic year for
Computing, ISE and JMC students by:


1. Giving a talk to the students about their year in the first week.


2. Attending and chairing "Placement Presentations" in week 1 of the Autumn Term along with the 4th Year Coordinator and the Industrial Liason Officer.


3. Ensuring that the three groups elect representatives.


4. Maintaining the year noticeboard on the web


5. Monitor courework to ensure student workload is fair and that all marked courseworks are returned to MEng students before their end of term MEng tests.


6. Scheduling coursework deadlines


7. Keeping in regular contact (weekly or every two weeks) with the reps
to solve problems and answer students questions as they arise.


8. Attending academic committee so that your students' needs can be put
into perspective with other students


9. Input coursework, lab work, topic, business school and humanities marks into the exams database.


10. Liasing with Lab coordinators.


9. Attending preliminary examination meeting (s).


10. Organise M.Eng3 tests at the end of Autumn and Spring terms.


11. Ensure students have selected their options by the middle of the Spring Term.
