This rule is used forwards to include a formula into your proof when you don't want to prove the formula in Pandora (for example when
using a complex lemma) or backwards to justify a goal line that you do not want to prove.
To use it forwards:
- select both an empty line and Trust Me.
- If you need to use a previous proof line or lines as a justification select the line or lines and click on done or else click on done.
- When prompted enter the formula you wish to add to your proof (this formula must only contain predicates and terms already within the
signature of the box you are working in).
- When prompted enter a comment if you wish to.
- the formula and the comment (if entered) will then be added as a new line to your proof.
To use it backwards:
- select both the goal line you wish to justify and Trust Me.
- If you need to use a previous proof line or lines as a justification select the line or lines and click on done or else click on done.
- When prompted enter the formula you wish to add to your proof (this formula must only contain predicates and terms already within the
signature of the box you are working in).
NOTE: The new line will always be used as a justification for the original goal formula.
- When prompted enter a comment if you wish to.
- the formula will be added as a new goal and the comment (if entered) will then be added as a new line to your proof.
- the old goal line will be justified.
NOTE: When used forwards TM allows you to add new givens.
