Cairo, Dec 18 - 19, 24 - 25, 27 - 28, 2008

A mad, chaotic, energetic city that of course has the advantage of having the Pyramids as well as the fantastic Egyptian museum (where you can see the death mask of Tutankhamun). We used this as a base during our trip. Make sure that you try Koshary when you're there.

Desert Trip, Dec 26 - 27, 2008

A two day dash into the desert to experience the black and white deserts. There were more than a few stunning landscapes and very interesting geological formations. Made an overnight stop at the Bahariya Oasis. The best part of the trip though was the amazingly clear night sky :-).

Luxor, Dec 23 - 24, 2008

By far my favourite city during this trip. So much to see and do, can imagine why they kept this city as the capital of their kingdom. From the majestic Karnak temple to the spectacular Valley of the Kings, there is history around every corner.

Nile Cruise, Dec 20 - 23, 2008

A typical 3-day cruise along the Nile from Aswan to Luxor. It is very interesting to see how the Nile affects the life of people and also how much fertile land it provides. Overall, it was very relaxing and the best way to see some amazing sunsets.

Aswan, Dec 21, 2008

A day spent in Aswan before we set sail on the Cruise. The souk is especially nice and not very touristy and you also get to see the magnificent High Dam. There is also a chance that you may get a glimpse into some Nubian culture.
