Title: Making the world run faster
Abstract:

SAP is the world's largest business software company. Keeping ahead of the competition means we need to take advantage of the latest technology. One of SAP's key focus areas at the moment a new in-memory database, SAP HANA, that has been developed in-house and will form the basis of the SAP's products in the future. This talk will cover the basics of in-memory database technology, it's advantages and some of the drawbacks. It will also describe some of the new applications that SAP is developing based on this technology and how some old applications are being speeded up. In some cases applications can run 1000s of times faster.
