Title: Dart: A Platform for Building Large Web Applications.
Abstract:

Web applications are becoming bigger and more complex all the time. However, we are still using JavaScript to write these applications. JavaScript poses some real challenges for web application developers. In particular, it is hard to reason about programs written in JavaScript both for the programmer and also for tools and implementations.

Dart is a new platform for large-scale web application development. The Dart programming language is much more structured than JavaScript which increases both programmer productivity as well as application performance. At the same time the Dart language is dynamic and has a light-weight scripting-language feel.

In this talk we will give an introduction to the Dart platform which consists of the Dart programming language, a virtual machine, a Dart to JavaScript compiler, a set of libraries and an editor.
