Title: Applications of Computing in Mobile Communications
Abstract:

This lecture will illustrate how Vodafone has evolved to use a wide variety of computing applications. The applications vary from warehouse stock management, to online portals to telephony applications and billing systems, and the lecture will illustrate how these are used to create innovative mobile communication products.

Daniel Azzopardi is an Enterprise Architect in Vodafone UK's IT department with responsibility for the architecture for Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) products and 4G. He has 16 years' experience of technical leadership and technical consultancy roles in BT, O2 and Vodafone.

Matt Hartnell is an Enterprise Architect in Vodafone UK's IT department with responsibility for the Retail and Logistics architecture. He has 14 years background in IT working in various industries including Aerospace, Distribution, Manufacturing, Government and Telecoms, performing lead architecture roles for EDS, Cap Gemini and Vodafone.
