Abstract: | How do you keep a system with 1.3 billion users (mostly) spam-free? This talk will describe some of the biggest challenges in spam fighting and security at Facebook, as well as going into more details about one specific mechanism - our system for detecting and classifying bad urls on the site - and how we use it to prevent attacks. |
Speaker Details: | Ioannis Papagiannis Ioannis Papagiannis is a software engineer on Facebook's Site Integrity team in London. He is working on Facebook's clustering systems that are responsible for surfacing sets of users posting spam on the site. Before joining Facebook, he obtained his PhD on runtime taint tracking at Imperial College London. |
