Title: Fighting Malware on Facebook
Abstract: Malware has been one of the major vector of abuse at Facebook. Bad actors trick users into installing malicious applications which they then use to hijack user browsers and Facebook login credentials. In this talk I will present the history of malware-based abuse on Facebook, starting off of traditional malware binaries and then focusing on the recent ecosystem of malicious browser extensions. The talk will also cover war stories of successful botnet takedowns and will introduce the monetisation incentives that fuel the abuse ecosystem.
