Ask Eddy Kavanagh (room 327) or Ann Halford (room 437) for a key to the cabinet in which the remote control for the projector is kept. There is no audio in this room, other than the speaker which is in the cabinet.

Using the installed workstation

• The power switch for the projector is on the right side of the cabinet.

• Press the red power button on the remote control.

• Press the RGB button to select RGB1 on the projector screen.

  Some useful buttons on the remote are:

  • Laser - gives you a pointer.
  • Freeze - holds the projected image while you change things on the computer.
  • Shutter - blanks the projected image.

  Most users would not need to touch the other buttons.

• To turn the projector off press the power button on the remote then turn off the power switch on the cabinet.

Using a portable PC

• Connect the portable PC to the socket on the right side of the cabinet labelled RGB2, using a VGA cable (which can be borrowed from CSG).

• On the projector, press the mode button to select RGB2. Other controls are as above.

If you want to connect your own portable to the network (assuming it has an ethernet card), please use IP address 146.169.5.47 and gateway 146.169.5.232

Connect a network cable to the socket labelled 145/4 (under the bench) and plug it into the portable's network adaptor. This is the socket used by the installed workstation so please unplug it and remember to re-connect it later.
