My main research interests nowadays are focused on object detection and recognition and tracking using monocular and stereo cameras (e.g. kinect) for surveillance applications.
I have been actively involved in the creation of two successful proposals: a two years funded project by DHS (Department Homeland Security-USA) and a EU project called PROACTIVE.
Both projects focused on the application and integration of sereval computer vision algorithms for surveying in a semi-automatic manner public enviroments.
