Hello, world!

I am a Senior Research Scientist at Google working on GenAI and foundation models in the AR/VR Org. Before that, I led Huawei's White City Noah's Ark CV/ML team in London, where I worked on various project landings for the company's mobile and cloud platforms and published in top venues (e.g., CVPR, ICCV). In the past, I was also a founding member and ML scientist at Facesoft, an Imperial College spinoff.

I hold a PhD in Machine Learning from Imperial College London, where I was supervised by Prof. Stefanos Zafeiriou. For my studies, I was funded by the highly competitive EPSRC DTA studentship. During my PhD, I researched topics in Statistical Machine Learning and Deep Learning, focusing on GenAI. My research has been featured by the Royal Academy of Engineering (more here).

During 2015-16, I pursued an MSc in Computing at Imperial College London (graduated with Distinction). For the MSc, I was awarded a Scholarship from the General Arnaoutis Foundation (granted annually to the best four candidates). Before joining Imperial College London, I studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from which I received an MEng in 2014 (top 2% of the class). In 2013, I was awarded the third place in the European Innovation Competition "E-nnovation".

As a high school student, I participated in mathematical competitions. In 2008, I received the Bronze Medal in the Greek Mathematical Olympiad and was a member of the National Mathematics Team.
